Off to Mount Kilimanjaro!

The tallest mountain in Africa at 5895m, Kilimanjaro is actually made up of three ancient volcanos. Tim and the climbing team will set off for Tanzania in June 2018, via Egypt.

Thanks to the support of clothing brand Kathmandu, the 25zero team ran a global competition to find the final expedition members – and the winner was Sarah Reid, who runs a low-impact travel blog called Ecotravelist.

Kilimanjaro’s glacier is melting fast. It is estimated that it will be gone by the middle of this century. However, scientists sometimes find it difficult to estimate the actual extent of the ice, because of periodic snowfall which disguises the melting. So the glacier could be much worse than we think.

While in Africa, the 25zero team will also scale Mount Kenya and Mount Speke.
